February 26th 2009 Court Hearing today and new pictures our our daughter!

We woke up today and were feeling very anxious because we had our scheduled court hearing in Taiwan this morning at 9:45am. The judge will finalize our adoption and we should receive a travel date soon! Now we will wait for our appointment to be scheduled at the American Embassy in Taiwan (AIT) and that will determine our travel date to bring Mika home.

We were so surprised this morning to receive an unexpected email from our agency and receive 3 new pictures of Mika! She's wearing the clothing we sent to her for the Chinese Lunar New Year, and she looks absolutely adorable.

David and I spent the day shopping for a car seat, diapers, baby wipes, pajamas and books! We feel so happy and it was a wonderful day filled with many blessings.

We know we are only weeks away from bringing Mika home and it's a feeling that fills our hearts with gratitude and joy.

Here are the other 2 pictures of Mika that we received today! We received these pictures 3 hours before our court hearing, so the timing was perfect and seeing her beautiful face helped us relax and be thankful for this very special day.

We spent the day shopping for Mika while the court hearing was happening in Taiwan! It was an absolutely glorious day.

We were very surprised this morning to receive news that Mika's foster Mother has requested to meet us! This is very unique, and is a wonderful opportunity for us to ask her questions about Mika and get to know more about her childhood. The agency will make arrangements for us to meet her in a neutral location with a translator and an orphanage representative the day before we travel to the orphanage to pick up Mika. We feel very fortunate to have such a special opportunity.

Our agency has been absolutely amazing throughout our entire adoption process, and this is another example of how much they care about the families and the children. Although we know it will be very emotional to meet the Foster Mother, we feel very blessed to be given such a wonderful gift. It will be a very special moment for us to shake her hand and say thank you.
Our court hearing is only 12 days away!!! After that, we should find out our travel date.

New pictures Of Mika!! February 7, 2009

We woke up this morning and were blessed to receive 3 new beautiful pictures of Mika!! She looks so wonderful. We're so thrilled to see she's grown a little and looks happy and healthy. These photos were taken two days ago at the Chinese Lunar New Year festival, and she's wearing her special jacket for the occasion. She looks so pretty!

We're very excited about the court date on the 26th of this month and finding out our travel date soon!!! Today is a wonderful day at our house.

After everything we went thru with our first adoption attempt, we feel so lucky to have found our agency, as well as Chung Yi! We know this is where we always belonged, and the journey getting here has made it even more special.
